Senior Benefits of Georgia
Bringing decades of employee benefits management, life insurance home office, and field sales experience to their collaboration, Louis Fleming and Mack Collins created Senior Benefits of Georgia in 2005 in response to the growing need for consumer assistance with new options created by the addition of prescription drug coverage to Medicare that can save - or cost - hundreds of dollars extra per year.
Word soon got around Cobb County and North Georgia about the friendly, unbiased advice we provide to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and our community at large. At the urging of Dr. Terry Shaw, we established our main office on Due West Road in 2008 when space opened up a few doors down from his local landmark independent pharmacy - so we could help his customers select the right Part D coverage. Our first bilingual associate and long serving office manager, Ines Salas-Porras ensures that native Spanish speakers have full understanding of their plan choices.
We’ve been an annual sponsor since the inaugural Run for the Son 5K/10K (Peachtree Road Race qualifier) at BHBC in 2009. In 2010 Louis brought his son Michael Fleming on board to provide some Georgia Tech know-how about information management systems to the growing business. With this power boost we sold off a smaller business (Benefits for Federal Employees) to focus on serving the senior market, then began recruiting and training additional agents. Louis, Mack and Michael formed an official partnership Senior Benefits of Georgia, LLC in 2015 - the same year that we opened our 2nd office location in the Remax Greater Atlanta building.
Our core mission is adding benefits and risk protection that Medicare doesn’t provide. Our expanded offerings include single premium lifetime Long Term Care insurance and guaranteed income annuities that can be funded with IRA or 401(k) retirement savings. You won’t hear about those from a financial advisor with fees based on the size of your assets under management. We also help those planning ahead for retirement with tax-advantaged cash value Indexed Universal Life (IUL). Disability Income and Term Life products can help pay a family’s mortgage if something happens to the breadwinner.
We’re not really limited to Seniors or Georgia. Two out of five Medicare beneficiaries are under 65 - we’re here for you, too. If you’re not eligible for Medicare and don’t have health insurance at work, we also stay up to speed on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) a.k.a. “Obamacare” plans available on HealthCare.gov - as well as Short Term Medical plans with broader networks. Own a small business with at least one employee? Let’s talk about small group plans. Our agency is licensed in Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee and we have trusted colleagues in the Carolinas.
When your physical and financial well being are at stake, comparing the costs and value of insurance plans can be a daunting task without a plain talking local agent on your team. As independent brokers we stay up to date with life and health insurance products from dozens of companies so you can find a tailored fit and get personalized customer service for years to come. Best of all, there’s never any consultation fee or extra premium for our expertise.
